"Misty Way, Centre Intermondes, La Rochelle, France (2016), Voltaje Festival, Bogota, Colombia (2019)"
Misty Way is a video installation that incorporates three main elements involved in fog collection: humidity, wind and a harvesting substrate. In this piece, water droplets in fog are filmed with a high magnification camera that turns each droplet into a visible, light circle oscillating to its own rhythm. Metamorphosizes into light drops, they are collected by a textile net made from parallel fibres. One hundred and twenty kilometres of threads, walked and stretched one by one, create an inclined surface covering the entire ceiling of the room that ‘captures’ the light drops through screens, casting a second projection on the floor covered in dark carpet. These drops of light create an immersive environment where visitors are literally splashed by a fog of light, shadows and sounds - a musical composition that in itself is a space reconstruction of stitched noises recorded by Daniel Schorno (electronic music composer) during lab experiments.
